Pacific University, Home of the Boxers!
As an Assistant Director of Communications in Social Media at Pacific University, I manage the main university social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube) and head university email marketing.

Boxer Giving Day
As a non-profit, private university, giving is a large part of our marketing strategy. Every year, we have a special Giving Day for Pacific University called Boxer Giving Day. For 36 hours, we try to raise as much money as we can from alumni, students, parents, friends and more to put towards student scholarships and more. This year, we used a crowdfunding platform called GiveCampus and paired that with my social media plan to raise over $234,000 (which is a lot for us).
I had our designers create a new profile picture and headers for our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) so that we could do a total social media takeover for Boxer Giving Day. I was also able to use our short promo video as a header on Facebook.
Knowing where my most active audiences were (and the student audiences), I shared a giveaway on Facebook and Instagram and we got a whirlwind of responses that was 30x our average engagement rate.
Pacific University, the Perfect Setting for a TV Show
Since being hired, Pacific University has been the setting of two different TV shows. One of those shows is the Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists on Freeform. Whenever they come to shoot on campus, they have to transform the campus into the tv show's university, Beacon Heights, and the decorations are always so much fun to post on social media.
Snow on Campus
Snow in Oregon is a big deal because it happens so rarely. So when it happens here at Pacific, it's like social media gold. Our audience loves it. KGW News retweeted us, boosting stats.
The same thing happened again when in the same month, we got a freak hail storm. And again, KGW News retweeted us to their 220k followers.
I conceptualized this whole video, planned promotions, set up interviews and worked closely with the video team to record the content.
#GivingTuesday was something I've never had to tackle before, so it was a challenge that I welcomed. It took a lot of planning and strategizing, and I learned a lot. While we accepted donations online via the school's website, we also asked for donations on Facebook with our #GivingTuesday posts.
I have a lot of fun on Pacific University's Instagram. This is the platform where most of the students reside, so it's important to be on point with content. I'm also really dedicated to the imagery that goes on Instagram. Photography is one of my hobbies.
